Loved this NXSTY release. Vancouver-born producer NXSTY returns with his explosive new single “Break The Body” which also marks a strong debut on Westwood Recordings. He has always been great at mixing trap roots with heavier club energy and here that Bass House influence takes over in a pretty wild direction. Right from the start the bass growls with that gritty NXSTY character, then it slides into something deeper and more distorted than usual. There is a darker pulse running through the entire track that instantly grabbed my attention.
The main drop hits with a wobbling bassline that keeps switching back and forth with this almost mechanical movement. It never stays fully still, you get this uneasy feeling that it is about to twist into something even heavier. The rhythm feels tight and minimal and that actually gives the growl more space to punch through. I really enjoyed how it constantly alternates between aggressive and quieter moments, like the track keeps breathing in and out before smashing the next section.
There is also a clear trap influence popping up in the structure. Those short breaks and vocal chops feel like a nod to his earlier work but now they sit inside a proper Bass House framework. It is interesting to notice how he slows things down just enough before pushing the next build which makes every drop feel harder than the previous one. My favorite part is how unpredictable it all is. Just when I thought I understood the direction he throws in another switch, sometimes subtle, sometimes dramatic, but always surprising.
Overall, “Break The Body” feels like a heavy club weapon with real personality. The wobble, the growl, the trap flair, everything comes together with a darker pace that stands out. NXSTY showing once again why he remains such an exciting name in the heavier side of bass music.
