A sharper, louder Yosuf: refinement of the signature sound in “Till The Morning Comes”

• American Hardstyle with a sharper identity
• Anti-climax drop that actually works
• Chaotic, fast and surprisingly mature

Time for a Yosuf review today, since I was really missing my Hardstyle dose. The American producer just released “Till The Morning Comes” on BassCon and I had a lot of fun with it.

I’ve been a fan of Yosuf since his early works like “Anadrol“. His American sound is a bit controversial because it doesn’t follow the classic Hardstyle patterns and instead leans into more commercial ideas. He often flips pop songs, speeds them up and keeps things simple. Works for me. It’s a different take on Hardstyle and it’s fun. Great for gym music as many call it american gym music indeed. Not too elaborate to distract you but packed with fast BPMs.

In the last months I noticed a bit of a shift though. More originals, more mature ideas, solid collabs like the Levenkhan one or the Sullivan King edit. Feels like a Phase 2 of the Yosuf project.

This step is clear in “Till The Morning Comes”. It is a rework, pretty sure I heard those lyrics and those notes somewhere else, but there is more personality this time. The vocal is heavily distorted, the buildup immediately starts carving out a more elaborate pattern, and the drop uses an anti-climax approach that I’m pretty sure takes inspiration from Levenkhan’s famous heavy bass. The central breakdown brings this guitar riff that almost walks into drum and bass territory and it ends up giving the whole track a cinematic tension. There is a switch halfway through where the percussion opens up and the bassline grows thicker and it gives the impression that he is trying to break away from the typical formula. More details, more movement, a bit more intention behind every section which wasn’t always the case in his past reworks.

I had a lot of fun with “Till The Morning Comes”. It comes out like most of Yosuf’s tunes, chaotic and entertaining, but this time there is enough effort in the structure to see a clear evolution. And I approve of it.
