Running away with style! “Run” mixes Happy Hardcore drive with Hardstyle power

• Female vocal with distorted flair
• Buildup shines with detailed bassline
• Final drop goes raw and unexpected

I swear, the first notes instantly reminded me of Katy Perry’s “Dark Horse”. Same kind of hypnotic pull, but “Run” quickly moves into way more energetic territory.

I’ve praised Benster before for his remix and the way he makes hardstyle feel so fun. This time he’s joined by Italian producer Lupage, and together they’ve cooked up something that feels like a straight blend of Happy Hardcore and classic hardstyle. The first drop and most of the buildup are full-on Happy Hardcore, while the main kicks land with that typical hardstyle weight. The combo works, giving “Run” an energetic punch that doesn’t let up.

It’s a pretty straightforward structure, and yeah, you can tell where things are going. But there are small details in the bassline and buildup that catch your ear. The lead is catchy without being overdone, and the vocal loop, while simple, gets twisted and distorted in ways that actually feel convincing. It’s not the most unique melody in the world, but it carries the track and adds to the fun.

What stood out to me most is the ending. Just when you expect more of the same, the final drop comes in rawer and sharper than the rest. It’s a nice switch-up that keeps the energy alive and stops the track from feeling flat.

Overall, “Run” is a fun party tune. It doesn’t try to reinvent anything, but it takes a few good ideas, delivers them cleanly, and makes sure you’re moving the whole time. Catchy, entertaining, and easy to get into.
