• Initial section is simple and minimal
• Lovely vocal performance
• Calm and introspective
Released on Selected., “Secrets” is a Deep House banger produced by Welsh creator Tudor. The artist already has a solid career! Hundreds of millions of streams, collaborations with Diplo, Cedric Gervais, Hayden James, and more.
Now a staple name on Selected.’s roster, it’s clear why. His polished style is calm but never entering into predictable or boring territory. It shines and aligns with the label’s chill sound design. With each release, Tudor demonstrates his ability to craft songs that are not only musically engaging but also emotionally resonant. His knack for creating magical atmospheres is evident in “Secrets.”
With a vocal performance from Caroline Byrne, “Secrets” presents a smooth and laid-back summer atmosphere that truly convinced me. Caroline’s voice adds a layer of depth and emotion to the track, blending seamlessly with Tudor’s production. The song starts slowly, with a minimal set of notes that sound introspective and emotional. These first 30 seconds are magical, setting up a calm vibe that slowly escalates, bit by bit, into a solid Deep House drop. This build-up is handled masterfully, creating anticipation and drawing the listener in.
I appreciated how the drop takes up roughly two-thirds of the tune as it deserves its own space. It is where Tudor’s production skills truly shine. The percussions added a Tropical House feel and the bassline guided me toward the final round.
It’s layered and rich, with a rhythm that is infectious yet soothing. The use of percussions adds a dynamic element that keeps the track from becoming monotonous.
The song’s structure is well-thought-out. Each element has its moment without overshadowing the others. The minimal intro sets the stage, the build-up creates excitement, and the extended drop provides a satisfying payoff. This balance is key to the track’s success and makes. I must admit, that’s quite an impressive result.
