• Happy vocal, powerful drop
• Sweeter kick than expected
• Lots of beautiful details in the composition
Today’s track is a delightful Melodic Hardstyle tune that truly impressed me with its sound design. “Wild Ones” is the first collaboration between Dutch producers Tim and Tom, known as TCM and Thymo.
TCM has made a name for himself with Hardstyle covers of famous songs like “What Is Love” and “Forever Young,” releasing tracks on labels such as Dirty Workz and Dutch Master Works. Thymo, also known for his creative covers (I recommend “Livin’ On A Player“) has a slightly more aggressive style. Together, Tim and Tom have created something fresh and energetic.
“Wild Ones” showcases the evolving Hardstyle genre, integrating elements of classic EDM with softer kicks and intricate sound design. This blend sometimes results in tracks that feel more like sped-up EDM with Hardstyle kicks, and “Wild Ones” is a perfect example of this innovative direction.
The track sound more like a Progressive House strucutre blending with an Hardstyle layer, which works well. The drop features intricate details typical of Prog, fitting nicely within a Euphoric Hardstyle framework. The happy vocal adds a sense of joy, enhancing the overall feel of the track. The kick is softer than traditional Hardstyle and more in line of the next gen of Hardstyle covers.
I think that “Wild Ones” is a beautiful tune that will appeal to both Progressive House and Hardstyle fans. The blend of genres highlights the creativity of the idea and provides a fresh perspective on the genres. This collaboration between TCM and Thymo shows the exciting potential of genre fusion in electronic music. Concluding, I’m happy to hear a different take on Hardstyle, and “Wild Ones” is a great example of combining Progressive and Hardstyle elements. It’s a standout track for its originality and execution. This song is a must-listen for anyone interested in the future of Hardstyle and the possibilities of genre blending.
