As obvious as it could get, a bunch of new Squid Game remixes have already emerged in the past weeks. Let’s be honest: many artists jumped on the bandwagon to get that moolah, but this time around there’s a lot of quality put in the edits for this trending Netflix’s hit soundtrack.
We have three remixes that impressed us, coming from fairly recognizable names…
1. Blasterjaxx & Cuebrick Remix
80/100
Perhaps the Dutch duo are rushing releases are tad bit quickly, as their twist on the “Pink Soldiers” came out a few days after our first article. There’s a great chance of this being more of a Cuebrick idea, as the remix operates on heavy festival progressive house scheme, especially with the vibrant bassline and the elegant central breakdown. The trio did encapsulate the catchiness from the original score in a festival salsa, and the result surely broke down ADE! Excellent move that will likely become a hit like “Bella Ciao”, with the plus points going for the efforts put in its design
2. Maddix Remix
79/100
The Revealed veteran increased the usual tempo to a typical techno pacing, with elements from the genre that unexpectedly form a catchy remix. More oriented towards the “Mainstage Techno” sound rather than underground variant of it, a lively melody gives away to an explosive second drop. The Dutch producer made his edit deriving the hooking essence from the original score, and enhanced in a way nobody expected. It isn’t groundbreaking, but the ingredients pave the way for a solid and well-crafted, and possibly a viral take on the soundtrack.
3. JACKRO Remix
74/100
Honestly, I was going to feature KEVU’s version, but it turned out rather generic. Let’s forget about that, since we have an even uncommon rendition and unheard of beforehand: a hardstyle rework. JACKRO decided to slightly alter the actual melody to his tastes and it works, applying other thing such as the vocal chop from the series (that Green Light, Red light sounded annoying at first, sadly) paired with a unique riff that makes it more genuine. Simpler arrangements, but the execution does its charms!
