Magnomite – Thunder

We have, in front of us, one of the most interesting, exciting and mysterious songs of the year.

Let’s begin with a confirmation: Magnomite are Hardwell & Julian Calor. Spotify confirmed it (Thanks to our fan Arthur for pointing it out)!
Thunder

“Thunder” has been announced a long time ago, but nobody didn’t actually hear the track until when Revealed used it in the UMF Aftermovie. It perfectly keeps the signature Julian Calor vibes, so, it was easy to guess who was behind it. In the following days, Magnomite had fun with fans, creating a cryptic post, and making us giggle for the name’s choice.

In fact, Magnomite is a clear reference to the Pokemon Magnemite (electro type, a reference to the electro house style of the song and to the title), and they used a MissingNo (a mysterious Pokemon Glitch-type, in few words) as an official profile picture. Hardwell and Julian Calor have surely some fun while doing that!

Anyway, let’s focus on the music. It’s wonderful to see the old Julian Calor style back, almost two years after “Atlas”. His collaboration with the boss Hardwell was like a forbidden dream for fans, but it’s reality, even under an alias.

The cinematic break is a pure concentrate of climax, then a classic distorted lead decides to play. The melody is catchy, the following drop is dynamic, complex and energetic. Julian Calor is back, and in the best way possible!

Hardwell’s vibes are not very present in “Thunder”, and this may be a clever choice, being Julian Calor’s style unique and hard to modify, but apart from the break, we were expecting something more from his side. Maybe we are asking too much…

In conclusion, “Thunder” is a bomb. We loved every element of this collab, starting from the curious marketing idea (genial) to the explosive drop. 2018 is the year of comebacks? Well, we have another name to add to the list: Julian Calor. WIthout forgetting the legend Hardwell, of course! Another super hit for his infinite catalogue!
