Sephyx – Demons

Last year saw Hardstyle getting more attention from the heavyweights in the dance music scene, including Hardwell. With this, the Dutch mega-label Revealed Recordings also gave space to some exquisite Hardstyle production from various artists, including the label boss himself. We also saw splendid works from the likes of Dr. Phunk and Atmozfears, but perhaps one of the most promising artists to be featured was the talented Sephyx. His tracks “Lights” and “Heart Of Gold”, together with his remix of “Don’t Let Me Down” with Hardwell, captured a lot of attention and earned appreciation from the listeners.

Today, we will be talking of his latest release, titled “Demons”. Released via the notorious hardstyle label Dirty Workz (created by Coone), we were expecting something beautiful! Our speculation was right: this production is an engaging and hulking euphoric hardstyle, with the signature melodic style of Sephyx.

Equipped with an entrancing melody and vicious synths, “Demons” certainly hits the bullseye.

Initiating with an interesting female vocal speaking some excerpts, “Demons” gets further with it being coupled with a distorted analogue like bassline in the backdrop. The classic build-up soon follows, bringing in the aggressive and thumping drop. This drop potently displays usual screeching hardstyle synth playing out a one-note kind of melody, simultaneously assisted with a hammering hard kick. The intro drop very much injects the power right from the start.

Following this, an uplifting breakdown edges over. The same vocal takes over, while the backdrop gets sentimental with pads and a female chorus. Brimming with epic vibes, shrilling and melodic hardstyle saw synths take over, playing an ensnaring melody. This melody further hooks the listener as it forms the ground to the main drop ensuing it. The second drop, without doubt, hits with impressive power and tenacity, as intensive synths and nailing kicks dominate.

“Demons” is a superlative work from Sephyx, and it is sincerely hoped that this talent will soon  comes up with other amazing releases.
